New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center

Founded in 1948, the NYC ballet is the largest dance organization in America with approximately 100 dancers and an active repertoire of 150 works altogether. It is renowned worldwide for its enduring contributions to dance.   The company presents new works and has been a major force in promoting and nurturing future dancers and choreographers.  They have presented the Nutcracker Suite Ballet every December since its premier in 1954.  It is a New York City favourite.  On Saturday mornings the NYCB puts on hour long excerpts from their repertoire.  Furthermore, the artists themselves guide you through the program offering personal insights on the music and choreography to allow for better comprehension of the performance. All this for $20 per person.  This is a wonderful way to be introduced into the world of classical dance and an amazing family activity
